How can photographs of Roma and Sinti be read?

At this meeting of the “Studio Audio Visual Research” working group, Anton Holzer will provide an update on his research project “Representing Roma and Sinti” and present his article “Gazes / Countergazes. Roma and Sinti in Photography”, which is due to be published in mid-2026 in the journal “Romani Studies” (Liverpool University Press). The presentation will be followed by a discussion with the participants.
